Noblesville is located 17 miles northeast of Indianapolis in Hamilton County at the intersection of State Roads 32 and 37 and serves as the county seat for Hamilton County.
Noblesville has a rich history dating back to 1823 and its name is often traced to two possible sources. Some historians believe Noblesville was named for the 1800’s state Senator James Noble. Others believe that the city was city was named for Lavinia Noble of Indianapolis, who was engaged to Josiah Polk, who submitted the first plat of Noblesville with William Conner in 1823.
